“All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth.”-Aristotle, 384-322 B.C.
"Information is the currency of democracy. It is the responsibility of every American to be informed."-Thomas Jefferson
The hijacking of the American Revolution by a handful of extremists that started at its conception for the return of colonial mentality has reached its peak during the past seven years. Motivated by ignorance, arrogance and greed, these extremists have wreaked havoc both in American and in the world by energizing other extremist groups like never before. The irony is that these extremists blame the world rather than themselves for this by providing fuel for this fire through divisive policies, war and hate mongering for more profit. These operators could be called saboteurs who throw monkey wrench into the machinery of democracy in order to make profit from it when it is disabled. Let us use the Iraq quagmire as a motivating example of how we have made ourselves the laughing stock of the world by losing our moral authority and hearts and minds of the people in America and throughout the world. Let us look at our leadership for a moment. We know that the great founders of America were voracious readers and masters of learning from history. They also had Wisdom that came through not only limited knowledge, but integration of all branches of knowledge-something totally lacking in our ‘modern education.’ Let us relate this with our president’s knowledge and his view of reading. When asked if he reads books, he answered, "I don't read books, I read people!" Had he and his cohort architects of Iraq war read the book "The Art of War" by Sun-Tsu, one of the greatest Chinese war writers in 400 B.C.,they would have learned this invaluable piece of wisdom in it, "Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win." More ridiculous was that W could not even pronounce the name of Iraq, calling it I Rock some four months into his presidency even though his father had already bombed Iraq once already! How does a person or a country feel if we do not even care to pronounce their name right? The staggering cost of these wars that are bankrupting America are shown in a new book titled “Three Trillion Dollar War” by Noble Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and Linda Bilmez of Harvard University. The book shows that the final cost of war after considering rehabilitation of troops will reach 5-7 billion dollars whereas Bush Administration had forecasted it as $200 billion!
As a naturalized citizen of America with deep respect for the American Ideals that has not yet diminished through complacency and apathy, I take my civic responsibility very seriously and I am determined to protect America in order to make the world a better place. Because what America does, the world will follow. That is the reason why in addition to many scientific papers in my profession of natural resources, as a part of my civic responsibility I have self-published two books addressing these problems: Rediscovery of Hakim Omar Khayyam. This is the English translation of Khayyam, the great Persian mathematician, astronomer, physician and philosopher of the Eleventh century and a great role model. Omar was an advocate of moderation as the key for healthy lifestyle free from abuse and excess that is ruining America and our world. I call this the OK book and its verses “literary tranquilizers” (OK stands for Omar Khayyam). The second book, Global Hypocrisy and the Dawning of Neo-slavery: The Unprecedented Assault of Hypocrisy on Freedom and Democracy that calls our attention to what extremism and hypocrisy is doing to our world. Here is one sample of Omar Khayyam's robaii (quatrains) with regards to hypocrisy: I give you one advice if you lend me your ear, Let being a hypocrite be your worst fear. Say what you mean and mean what you say, And in the eyes of the Lord you'll be dear!
Here are some of my own poems in Omar Khayyam style: Educated, you perceive what you see, So you cannot go on a binge or spree! You are slave if you are not enlightened, Even if you were born in the Land of the Free!
Suppress your Want; only address your Need, Desires are cancerous and grow like weed. Follow the path of Moderation in whatever you do, Not the path of abuse, excess and greed.
I used Langston Hughes’s words for the title of this page that said;
Let America be America again, The land that never has been yet. And yet must be. The land where every man is free.
My version of Hughes' poem,
Let America be America again, Land that it once was and forever must be. A land where everyone is free.
Each book can be shipped to you for only $10, which covers Shipping & Handling. In other words, the books are free and my gift to the like-minded people who believe in caring and sharing. This is a small non-profit venture.
